The International Programme in Humanities is the first year, taught in English, of any one of the following three-year Bachelors of Arts degrees of the University of Pisa:
- Cultural Heritage Studies (Art History or Classical Archaeology)
- Studies in Performing Arts and Communication
- Philosophy
- History (Ancient – Medieval – Modern and Contemporary)
- European Languages and Literatures*
It is designed for international students wishing to begin to earn the first credits of their degree (60 credits, year 1) in English while learning Italian and experiencing Italian culture in Pisa. Therefore, next the courses taught in English, IPH includes classes of Italian language, whereby students gain linguistic skills enabling them to continue years 2 and 3 of their BA programmes in Italian.
IPH aims to provide a sound, multidisciplinary background in the Humanities. Our goal is to address the major challenges of life in the contemporary world by developing academic and professional expertise, critical thinking, as well as organisational skills required by the job market.
*students choose any two of the following: Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, German, Polish, Russian, Rumanian.
