Cinzia Cadamagnani

 

Cinzia Cadamagnani is Research Fellow in Slavic Studies at the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics. In December 2012 she defended her PhD dissertation entitled “Boris Isaakovich Jarcho in the Context of Russian Formalism”. The main topic of her research is literary criticism in Russia in the first decades of the twentieth century and, in particular, the activities of the Moscow Linguistic Circle. She is co-editor of the Italian edition of the works of M. Shapir «Universum Versus. Saggi di teoria del verso e di teoria della letteratura» (Pensa Multimedia, 2013). In parallel, she deals with the topic of Russian emigration to Europe; she analyzed in detail the scientific and journalistic activities of the archaeologist and Roman correspondent of the newspaper «Segodnya», T. S. Warsher (1880-1960), her correspondence with M. Rostovtsev and letters from Z. Gippius to her. She is also interested in teaching Russian as a foreign language and is engaged in literary translations from Russian into Italian. Among her translations, it should be noted the Italian translation of the book by P. Basinsky «Flight from Paradise» («Fuga dal paradiso. La vita di Lev Tolstoj». Roma: Carocci, 2014).
