Margherita Facella is Associate Professor of Ancient History (Greek History) at the University of Pisa, Italy. She was Visiting Associate Professor at Northwestern University, USA and a Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Since many years she collaborates with the Forschungsstelle Asia Minor (Münster-Germany) and participates to their surveys and excavation campaigns in Commagene (Turkey). Besides the history of Hellenistic and Roman Commagene, on which she has extensively published, her interests include the political and cultural history of Hellenistic Asia Minor and of the Roman Near East.
